And to think I've never been to King Donuts. Gotta fix that. Re the raised donuts, I have a feeling I might have ranked Lara's higher... a yeasty flavor would be a big plus in my book.

Thanks for this wonderful round-up; it was so much fun. Though at the end of that Sunday I thought I might never want a doughnut again, in fact we have trekked over to Original Bakery twice this summer. I had a delicious maple bar the first time, and last time a cinnamon-sugar cake which was so crisp. I loved it. The cookies looked great too--it's a wonderful old-fashioned bakery--but I think I'll be loyal to the doughnuts. It's very convenient to Lincoln Park and the Vashon ferry.

It was so nice to see you at the Queen Anne market yesterday; hope to see you again soon.

I know King Donuts would "reign" supreme! People need to recognize that you don't need to go to a hipster location to get some baked goods, check out the family owned places!

I live in Northgate but my fave donut shop is in south seattle - King Donut! Thank you for putting their donuts to the test alongside far more famous donuts and stating it like it is, that King Donut is a serious contender for best donut in seattle. I had a feeling, but never had the ambition to go around and systematically test it out - you guys are awesome! Also, the teriyaki at King Donut should also outshine others serving up the same dish. I will definitely look forward to hearing your findings after you do your teriyaki research :-) Thanks again!

I am not suprised to see places like King Donuts fair so well. A co-worker you to bring these donuts once a week into the office and one week she went with Might-O shop. Everyone had a fit and demanded King Donuts. Their other donuts are superb as well. Old fashioned and buttermilks. If they had other locations in more trendy parts of Seattle, King Donuts would be more well known.
