Eric and Stebbi hiked up to Lake Serene in June 2000. The lake is in
the Cascade mountain range, and sits against the north peak of
Mt. Index. We also visited Bridal Veil Falls, which is a short walk
from the main path to the lake.
Eric read somewhere that Lake Serene Trail is the most difficult rated
hike in the North Central Cascades region. The hike to the lake is 7
miles round-trip (8 miles when you include the falls), with an
elevation gain of 2000 feet.
