day 13 :

sunday, 27 may

After breakfast at the hotel, we sat around for a while and waited to be upgraded to a better room. It was certainly worth it! Dawn thinks that the whole thing is a scam, though. We reserved a Superior room; we learned that the Standard, Deluxe, and Superior rooms are (supposedly) all the same in layout, but have increasingly better views. (None of this was mentioned on their website, though.) The next room style is called Superior Deluxe, and it was a whole different experience, with lots of space and wonderful views.

We wandered down to Villa Eva's to reminisce about our last trip to Capri, then continued on to Il Cucciolo for lunch; it's a nice restaurant with great views.

By the time we got back to our hotel, we were very hot, so it was the perfect opportunity for a dip in the pool. The pool has a nice two-tier layout, and has a stunning view of the sea.

As the evening approached, we wandered down Via Migliera to the Belvedere di Migliera lookout point, from which you can see the Green Grotto (not to be confused with the Blue Grotto), St. Michael's Church, and the famous Faraglioni rocks often associated with Capri. Near the lookout is the Parca Filosofica - a small, hilly park with quotes from philosophers throughout the ages.

We ate dinner at Da Gelsomina alla Migliara, which is right across from the philosopher park, then had a nice night-time stroll back to our hotel.
